| About Hell's Kitchen |
is a 5-year old boy who lives with his mom and dad in Hell's Kitchen ?a special neighborhood in New York City ?a city so wonderful that they named a state after it.
Hazen is a great kid! He is a great kid that has neuroblastoma ?a rare form of pediatric cancer. He and his mom & dad are currently battling this difficult disease ?we are a team! Soon, we hope to help other families in similar battles.
Before he was a cancer kid, Hazen invented an imaginary alter ego that he named The Amazin' Hazen", a sort-of superhero who would fly around New York City, watching for stray pets and lost children throughout the city. When Amazin' Hazen was "off duty" a la Clark Kent, he was a magician who would perform in the subway stations. At his side, always was a cat. Hazen invented this character and scenario all on his own at age 3. Since diagnosis, we have been in the hospital most of the time and put that fantasy away but interestingly, the doctors, nurses, and social workers have all been referring to him as "Amazin' Hazen" because he has been amazingly strong, resilient and positive during all of the chemotherapy treatments and various procedures of the last 6 months ?not knowing that Hazen had already invented such a character before.
This is the very beginning of a website that will serve many purposes:
- to provide updates on Hazen
- to receive words from you
- to offer resources to cancer kids and their families throughout the world
- to house a childrens cancer research charity - VISIT IT HERE
